Our Practice
Dr. Yepsen will return proper motion to these subluxated vertebrae to reduce the swelling in the soft tissues (which includes the nerves). This reduction in swelling not only alleviates pain, but returns proper neurological flow to the tissues which the peripheral nerve controls. This allows the tissues to heal and in most cases eliminates the patient’s health complaint.
The most important part of care at our office is the treatment of spinal subluxation.
Our Staff
Alan Yepsen, DC
Dr. Yepsen graduated in 1990 from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. He has an Associate in Science Degree, a Bachelor of Science Degree, and a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree. He was the President of the Gonstead Club while at chiropractic college and continues to utilize the Gonstead Technique exclusively in his practice. This technique was developed by Dr. Clarence Gonstead and is one of three techniques which are taught at the chiropractic college.

The Gonstead Technique
The Gonstead Technique utilizes a consultation, a thorough examination, a x-ray evaluation, and the use of a heat sensitive instrument called a Temposcope.
Treatment consists of specific chiropractic adjustments of segments in the spine called vertabrae. A vertabrae which is "locked" can cause swelling to the soft tissues surrounding it. These soft tissues include nerves. Compression on nerves not only cause pain but can cause neurophysiological changes in the body. These changes can be something as simple as irritation to the dermis of the skin in the way of acne to something as complex as malfunction of a major organ in the body.
This group of events is called subluxation.
